Terry Rowland’s Temperature Quilt
Terry Rowland is awesome, another of my favorite content creators in the quilting genre. Her Temperature Quilt is wildly popular – you can see it doesn’t use light or white on the outside which gives it a dramatic effect. She assigned specific colors to temperature ranges, and made a block for each day based on average temperatures from 2022 in her area. If you haven’t heard of temperature quilts before, there are unlimited designs you can employ to make such a record of temperature in fabric. Just search for temperature quilts on YouTube.
I’ve got dozens of blocks done, but have many more to go – I’d like it to be decent sized quilt. Mine is not based on temperature, only on what size scraps will work, so the effect in the end won’t be nearly as dramatic. However it’s an excellent scrap buster for small bits, and I’m excited to get this scrap quilt back on the cutting table again.
