This traditional quilt block pattern includes 3″ (FPP), 6″ and 9″ instructions (finished sizes).
Another favorite because small scraps worked well in this block, the aptly named Economy Block emerged sometime in the early 1800s. It has gone by many other names such as Economy Patch, Hourglass, Thrift Block, This & That and more recently Square in a Square.
This block is great for fussy cutting – highlighting specific areas of a piece of fabric, such as in an I-spy quilt.
