The Log Cabin is historically the most popular block – it was said that no colonial home was without at least one log cabin quilt.
The first written history of the Log Cabin block was in 1863 at the Ohio State Fair. It was named for obvious reasons because of its layout, and possibly in part as a nod to Abraham Lincoln.
